Don't bring me down, Bruce
So I saw Hulk
finally. That film is a sin against God. If any good comes from it, it shows the strength of comics as a medium in it's utter failure to bring that format to the screen. Unfortunately it seems like they were going for a 'comics style' in the vein of Todd McFarlane rather than Kirby, but the point still stands. Speaking of Kirby, the little documentary about the Hulk on the bonus disc doesn't mention him once. Classy.
To conclude, Ang Lee directed this movie like Homer Simpson directed that video he made of Ned Flanders for the dating service. "Star wipe here, star wipe here.. and star wipe here."
And what did they need the Absorbing Man for? The movie ended when he finished beating up the tanks and planes.
Oddball Comics today
No real news that I feel like mentioning, but today's Oddball Comics
is fantastic. If all that jabber about 'pop comics' a while back had produced anything half as cool as this, mainstream comics wouldn't be so awful right now. Go look at the sample pages.
